JC man gets 10 years for robbery

A Jefferson City man will serve 10 years in prison for pleading guilty to charges in connection with a robbery in June 2013.

Kendrick Warren, 23, of 3815 Candlelight Drive, was charged with second-degree robbery, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.

Authorities said the incident occurred at 5209 Collier Court when Warren was with a group of black males who forced their way into an apartment. They were allegedly armed with a handgun and a hammer, and forced residents to lie on the floor.

One victim was struck in the head with a handgun while lying on the ground.

Warren and the other suspects left the apartment, taking with them cash and several electronic devices.

They fled in a vehicle and eventually were caught after crashing at Route C and Hemstreet Road.
