Tigers swept by Rebels

OXFORD, Miss. - The Missouri Tigers let a great start by Brett Graves go to waste Sunday in dropping an 8-3 decision to the Mississippi Rebels in Southeastern Conference action.

Graves threw seven innings and left with the Tigers holding a 3-2 lead. But the Rebels scored six times in the eighth inning off reliever Keaton Steele to finish a sweep of the three-game series. Graves allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six.

Graves, Missouri's normal starter in Friday-night games, had his outing pushed back to Sunday after he was hit in the head by an errant ball during pregame warmups.

Missouri is 11-2 overall, 1-3 in conference play. The Tigers will host Arkansas-Little Rock in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Mississippi is now 21-4 and 4-2.
