Lincoln tennis falls to Nebraska Kearney

The Lincoln tennis team was back in action for the second day in a row as the Blue Tigers fell to Nebraska Kearney 9-0 on Thursday.

The tandem of Alina Katrevich and Ashley Roling got Lincoln off to a good start, winning two games in the first doubles flight, but the duo fell 8-2.

The No. 2 doubles team of Kamaira Braye and Abigail Gober lost 8-0, while the No. 3 team squad of Jasmine Daniel and Brittanee Wells also fell 8-0.

Three Blue Tigers won games during singles play, including No. 1 player Katrevich, who dropped her first match 6-1, 6-0. Roling also lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, while Braye fell 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 slot.

Gober (No. 2), Daniel (No. 4) and Wells (No. 6) all lost their singles matches 6-0, 6-0.

Lincoln, which opened its season Wednesday with a 9-0 loss to Northwest Missouri, fell to 0-2 on the season and 0-2 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play. Nebraska Kearney is now 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the league.

Lincoln will host Fort Hays State at 3:30 p.m. today.
