Volunteers sweep Tigers in college baseball

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri senior pitcher Eric Anderson recorded eight strikeouts, but the No. 17 Tennessee Volunteers swept Saturday's Southeastern Conference doubleheader to take the series against the Tigers at Taylor Stadium.

Anderson went a season-best six innings in Game 2, a 4-1 loss. Keaton Steele, who has five saves on the season, was tagged with the loss.

Game 1 starter John Miles was tagged with his first loss of the year in a 5-1 defeat. The junior right-hander went 61/3 innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out four.

Jake Ivory drove in the only run of the first game for the Tigers and Dylan Kelly tallied the team's only RBI in Game 2.

Tennessee (17-2, 2-1) outhit Missouri (9-9, 1-2) 20-14 on the day.

The Tigers will take on Milwaukee at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor Stadium.
