COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 16 Missouri was unable to get the edge on No. 9 Kentucky in its Southeastern Conference doubleheader on Saturday at University Field.
The Tigers fell 3-2 in the opener, before the Wildcats held on to 8-7 victory in Game 2.
Missouri (16-7, 2-4) out-hit Tennessee (21-4, 4-2), but the Tigers stranded 16 baserunners on the day.
Emily Crane tallied four hits and drove in a run to help lead the Tigers at the plate.
Missouri will host Illinois State on Wednesday in a doubleheader, starting at 3 p.m.
