Three hurt in morning crash

Three people were hurt after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Jefferson City.

Police reports show the accident occurred on the exit ramp from U.S. 54 West to Ellis Boulevard around 6:10 a.m.

Natalie Deeken, 19, Jefferson City, ran her pickup into the rear of a stopped tractor-trailer that was driven by Carl Dry, 60, Columbia.

Deeken and her passenger, Matthew Schnieders, 22, Jefferson City, were treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Dry refused treatment at the scene. All occupants of both vehicles were believed to be wearing their seat belts.

The crash is still under investigation by the police department.
