Weather affects district basketball

Inclement weather across Missouri affected at least one basketball district.

The Class 4 District 8 Tournament, slated to begin today in Kirksville, has been pushed back a day. Opening-round games, which don’t affect any area teams, will be moved to Tuesday. Semifinal games for the Helias Crusaders and Lady Crusaders will be pushed back to Thursday.

No announcement has been made on the Class 5 District 9 Tournament that involves Jefferson City. The fourth-seeded Lady Jays are slated to take on fifth-seeded Sedalia Smith-Cotton at 7:30 p.m. today at Rock Bridge.

The same goes for the Class 4 District 10 Tournament, which includes the Eldon Mustangs and Lady Mustangs. Both teams are supposed to begin district play today.
