Central Bank named one of top banks

Forbes magazine has again recognized Central Bancompany as one of America's Best Banks in its annual review of the nation's 100 largest financial institutions. Central ranked 18th on Forbes' 2014 survey.

"For the fifth year in a row, Forbes has chosen Central Bancompany and our family of 13 community banks in four states, among the "Top Twenty Best Banks in America,'" said Bryan Cook, Central Bancompany president and chief executive officer. "We are elated and gratified to, once again, have this honor bestowed upon us. I want to thank our employee and management team, who made this possible. They continue to serve our customers and businesses in an exemplary manner, making this recognition possible."

To rank the nation's banks, Forbes used data collected by SNL Financial. The Charlottesville, Va., company gauged each bank based on eight criteria: return on average equity; net interest margin; non-performing loans; non-performing assets; reserves; a leverage ratio; and two capital ratios.

Central Bancompany is a $10 billion, Missouri-based bank holding company with 13 full-service community banks and more than 250 locations in 66 communities serving consumers and businesses in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Oklahoma.
