BizBeat: Salon at Wardsville sees new owner

Kelley’s Kabana, located in Wardsville, has changed ownership and is touting a new name.

Jefferson City couple Chris and Shelley Trube took ownership of the business on March 1. They have since made cosmetic changes inside the building, along with changing the name to Perfect Image.

The couple also owns a home-based catering business, Quality Catering. They decided to purchase the salon after seeing it for sale. Shelley Trube had previously worked the salon’s front desk.

The salon has two stylists, Annie Isenberg and newcomer DeMitri Porterfield. Trube said her stylists are both up-to-date on all things new and have been working hard. The Trubes are in search of a few more stylists to service the busy salon.

The business hasn’t changed much since its change in ownership. It is still a full-service salon offering both manicures and pedicures. It also has three tanning beds and offers spray tans.

A ribbon cutting will be July 17 to welcome the business as a new Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce member, and an open house will be July 19. Trube said the open house will feature free food, giveaways and specials on salon services.

“We enjoy doing this,” Trube said of the new business venture. “Walk-ins are always welcome and we welcome anyone to come in and see us.”

Perfect Image does have slightly different hours, now open Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
