Jeff City man given 15 years on drug charges

A Jefferson City man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for pleading guilty to two cases where he sold heroin to undercover law officers.

Louis Richmond Jr., 33, of 1312 Raymond Road, was first charged after an undercover officer bought heroin from Richmond on Feb. 19, 2013.

Then in May of this year, Richmond was again charged with two counts of distribution of heroin during a MUSTANG Drug Task Force sweep.

Richmond was convicted of felony possession of a controlled substance in 2000.

Because of his previous conviction, he was found to be a persistent offender and was given the maximum sentence.
