Authorities are following more leads in their search for a missing Jefferson City man

Authorities are looking into more leads in the case of a missing Jefferson City man.

The Police Department has been investigating the disappearance of Christopher Cray, 23, since May 20.

Jefferson City police announced Wednesday that detectives have enlisted assistance from the Missouri Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and Boone County Task Force One to assist with locating and confirming potential crime scenes that surround Cray's disappearance.

Also on Wednesday, a Jefferson City man was charged with tampering with physical evidence in this case.

Court documents show Adam Nadaniel Moore-Duncan, 25, of 803 E. McCarty St., concealed a body on or around May 22 in connection with authorities investigation into a "missing person" and obstructed the prosecution of the crime of murder.

The prosecutor's office asked for and was granted a motion to seal the probable cause statement in this case for five days.

Last week, another Jefferson City man was charged in connection with the Cray case.

Richard Love, 25, of 811 E. Dunklin St., was charged with tampering with a witness.

The charging document shows that, from June 13-17, Love "on more than one occasion threatened the victim during this investigation," including trying to get that person to avoid cooperating with authorities in their investigation into the "disappearance and/or kidnapping and/or homicide" of Cray.

Cray last was seen in the area of Schnucks, 1801 Missouri Blvd.

His abandoned vehicle was recovered in Jefferson City May 26.

Cray 's disappearance was considered suspicious because family members said Cray always kept in contact with them. Since his disappearance, Cray missed his own birthday and the birth of his child.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows on June 17 Love sent a text message to a witness in the Cray case, who has not been identified.

The message said the witness would "die like the first "rat.'" Love later admitted to authorities he sent the text message, the police statement reported.

During their investigation, authorities said they found that Cray was "accused of cooperating with police and causing the arrest of an individual" who was associated with Love.

Anyone with any information that could help in the Cray case is encouraged to contact detectives at 634-6400 or call the Jefferson City Area CrimeStoppers at 659-TIPS. A $500 reward is being offered to help generate tips.
