New event continues through today at Shawnee Bluff Winery

LAKE OZARK, Missouri -- Woodcarvers demonstrating their craft, artists exhibiting their masterpieces and artists in action have made the Festival of the Arts grow in its last two years of existence.
Now, its new outdoors festival concept and venue added onsite artists, creative activities and wine tasting to capture the essence of what organizers feel will make this annual event grow in the future.
Since Friday and through today at Lake Ozark’s Shawnee Bluff Winery, the Festival of the Arts saw many visitors and exhibited multiple mediums by artists including painting, sculpture, woodcarving, metal work, photography, ceramics, fiber art, jewelry and art quilting among the many types of fine art. Guests view and purchase art in all price ranges, and some artists are commissioning pieces that visitors might not see present at their booths on site.
The Festival of the Arts also includes an art quilt raffle. Tickets are sold throughout the event, and ticketholders do not have to be present to win. The art quilt, designed by award winning quilt designer Ann Say, is made utilizing lake area photographer Tricia Williamson’s photographs of the Bennett Springs area.
Proceeds from the art quilt raffle will be donated to the Healthy Living Project to fund local needs for youth. In the past, an art auction, which raised more than $5,000 for the Sharing & Caring Foundation last year, organizers have decided to donate to the Healthy Living Project.
The Shawnee Bluff Winery will host the final day of the Festival of the Arts from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today. Shortly after Festival of the Arts concludes this afternoon, the Lake Arts Council’s “Summer Sounds” Series kick-off featuring the Missouri Symphony Orchestra begins at 7 p.m. tonight at the same venue in Lake Ozark.
