BizBeat: Frosted Art to move downtown

After three years in its current location, Frosted Art is gearing up to move into downtown Jefferson City. Baker and business owner Carol Wieberg said the store will move to 202 E. High St., the current home of Jennifer's Photography.

The building will change hands Aug. 1 and Wieberg hopes to be settled in by October at the latest. Renovations to the building will start immediately after the purchase goes through, making all the necessary changes to comply with health regulations. The larger space will also allow for Frosted Art to begin offering classes to the public.

"We love the space we're in now," Wieberg said, adding that the Jefferson Street building isn't big enough to accommodate the classes, though.

Wieberg said cake and cookie decorating classes and parties are something she hoped to do but hasn't had the space. She likes the idea of helping people celebrate special occasions while at the same time doing something hands-on.

Frosted Art specializes in cakes of all kinds - weddings, birthdays, showers, etc. Wieberg is excited to move downtown especially for the foot traffic it will provide.

The Jefferson Street building will be put up for sale.
