Pavement repairs to close U.S. 63-54 ramp

The U.S. 63 southbound off-ramp to the U.S. 54 westbound on-ramp in north Jefferson City will be closed Tuesday for pavement repairs on the ramp.

The ramp will close at 7 p.m. and will reopen by 6 a.m. Wednesday, officials said.

Southbound 63 motorists wishing to access westbound 54 should detour to eastbound 54 to Summit Drive and then back to westbound 54.

Resurfacing work also begins Tuesday on a project to resurface northbound and southbound 63 for a 26-mile stretch between Route WW in Columbia and U.S. 54 in Callaway County. Work begins on the northbound driving lane just north of Turkey Creek in Callaway County and will progress northward, moving approximately two miles each day. Lane closures will be required from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day. All lanes will be open in time for the morning commute.

Once contractors reach Broadway in Columbia, they will move southward beginning in the southbound driving lane. The project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 1.
