"Hot rod' trucks featured at Eugene FFA tractor pull

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - They're not farm tractors.

The 10th annual Eugene FFA Truck and Tractor Pull will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Russellville Lions Club Field.

Up to 1,000 spectators are expected to watch the "hot rod" trucks and tractors at this Mid-Missouri Truck and Tractor Pulling Association event.

"The crowd likes the noises and smoke of diesel," advisor Ed Hager said.

This fundraiser supports about 80 percent of the Eugene FFA Chapter's budget, including shop and classroom supplies, leadership and team conference attendance and travel, awards and community service projects.

Originally, the event was held on a farm near Eugene. This is the fourth year it's being held in Russellville.

Organizers this year have coordinated with the Russellville Engine Show and Festival in the hopes of drawing better attendance for both events.
