FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Midfielder Eric Alexander scored his first goal of the season and the New York Red Bulls earned a 2-0 victory over the New England Revolution on Sunday.

Peguy Luyindula scored his third goal of the season for the Red Bulls in the 76th minute, a right-footed shot from atop the penalty box.

Alexander, who had taken just four shots on goal this season, headed in a cross in the 17th minute from the left wing by Lloyd Sam after New England goalie Bobby Shuttleworth was knocked to the turf in the scramble. Luyindula's goal was his first in 10 matches.

The Red Bulls (4-5-6) snapped a four-match (0-3-1) winless streak.

New England (7-5-2) suffered its second straight shutout loss.

CHIVAS USA 1, GALAXY 1

CARSON, Calif. (AP) - Erick Torres gave Chivas USA an early lead and Gyasi Zardes pulled the Los Angeles Galaxy even before halftime, and the Southern California rivals played to a tie in their final matches before Major League Soccer's two-week World Cup break.

Torres scored his ninth goal of the season in the 20th minute, finishing a defense-splitting pass from Leandro Barrera, as Chivas (2-7-5) took its first lead in the SuperClasico series since May 2012, its last victory, a span of six games.

The Galaxy (4-3-5) nearly tied the score seven minutes later, but Chivas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy pushed Landon Donovan's chip off the right post, then leaped across his goalmouth to snag Marcelo Sarvas' header on the rebound. Zardes scored in the 35th minute, jumping above two defenders to head home a chip from Sarvas.
