BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) - Obefemi Martins scored twice before his first-half ejection, Lamar Neagle added the winner and the Seattle Sounders earned their league-high 10th victory Saturday night, heading into the three-week World Cup break with a 3-2 win over the Chicago Fire.

The Sounders (10-3-2) stopped Chicago's unbeaten streak. The Fire (2-4-8) had tied their last two matches.

Seattle midfielder Neagle scored on a screened shot from the left side to make it 3-1 in the 78th minute.

The Fire's Harry Shipp cut the lead to 3-2 four minutes later on his second goal of the night.

Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei stopped Juan Luis Anangono from 12 yards in the 88th minute to preserve the win.

Martins, who had missed an open net in the fifth minute, beat Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson in the 31st and 38th minutes. He was ejected for an altercation with the Fire's Benji Joya seconds after Shipp scored his first goal in the 41st minute.

FC DALLAS 3, RAPIDS 2

FRISCO, Texas (AP) - Fabian Castillo scored in the 62nd minute and FC Dallas snapped an eight-game winless streak.

Dallas (6-7-3) had failed to score more than one goal in a game during its skid.

Castillo took possession of the ball near midfield and dribbled around Rapids defender Drew Moor before curling a left-footed volley from 15 yards and into the right corner of the net.

Colorado's Jose Mari tied at 2 in the 52nd minute when he angled a header into the left corner of the net from inside of 6 yards.

Zach Loyd gave Dallas a 2-1 lead in the second minute of first-half stoppage time.

Andres Escobar tied the game 1-1 in the 33rd, eight minutes after Deshorn Brown scored for the Rapids (6-5-4).

TIMBERS 3, REAL SALT LAKE 1

SANDY, Utah (AP) - Fanendo Adi scored a pair of goals and Portland grabbed its first win at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Luke Mulholland scored for RSL, who are playing without team captain Kyle Beckerman and goalkeeper Nick Rimando while they are with the U.S. national team for the World Cup.

Timbers captain Will Johnson scored in the 73rd minute on a penalty kick he buried in the lower left corner.

Real Salt Lake (6-2-7) was coming off a midweek 1-1 draw at Columbus. RSL had its record-tying 12-match unbeaten streak to start the season stopped last weekend with a 4-0 loss to Seattle.

The Timbers (4-4-7) were coming off a 4-3 loss at home to the Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps last weekend.

WHITECAPS 3, UNION 3

CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Pedro Morales scored his team-best sixth goal on a penalty kick in the 81st minute and Vancouver stretched its unbeaten streak to seven games.

Conor Casey scored twice and Sebastien Le Toux added a goal for the Union, who scored three times in an eight-minute span of the second half to take a 3-2 lead.

Casey has four goals in the last two games for the Union (3-7-6).

Erik Hurtado scored in the 18th minute and Nicolas Mezquida added a goal in the 42nd to give the Whitecaps a 2-0 lead.

Vancouver improved to 5-2-6 overall and 3-0-4 in its last seven games.

CREW 0, DC UNITED 0

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Steve Clark stood firm to save Fabian Espindola's penalty kick in second-half stoppage time and preserve the draw for Columbus.

Columbus' third shutout of the season prevented United (6-4-4) from leaping above the New England Revolution into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Columbus (4-5-6) finished the season series against United with a win and two draws. The Crew won just once in its last 12 matches overall.

TORONTO FC 1, EARTHQUAKES 0

TORONTO (AP) - Jermain Defoe scored on a penalty shot and Toronto FC held on for a 1-0 victory.

Defoe's goal came in the 26th minute, awarded when Nick Hagglund was pulled down in the box. The former Tottenham Hotspur star stepped up and sent the ball to the far left corner.

Toronto improved to 6-4-1 and San Jose fell to 4-5-4.
