2 guns confiscated at Lambert airport checkpoint

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Two guns were confiscated from passengers at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport during checkpoints on the same day Transportation and Security Administration workers confiscated 16 other weapons at airports across the U.S.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1le4DSm ) reports the incidents happened Wednesday. The TSA and St. Louis police are investigating and will determine if any charges or fines will be levied against the two passengers.

Airport spokesman Jeff Lea says any passenger who brings a gun through a checkpoint could face criminal or civil penalties.

Lea says June 4 was a record day for TSA after its agents confiscated 18 weapons, including the two in St. Louis.
