Your Opinion: Share ideas with school board

Dear Editor:

I have been following the Jefferson City Public School District changes over the years.

With the recent debates on the curriculum changes and the space problems in the high school, I was thrilled to read recently that the JCPS school board is asking for more community and staff input on these and other concerns, whether they are pro or con.

I want to encourage the citizens of Jefferson City and the JCPS teachers and staff to contact the members of the school board and voice your thoughts and ideas to them because we have elected these fine people on this school board to be our voice with the JCPS administration. I understand that we may speak with any person on the board and may contact them at any time, even at their place of work or home, rather than calling just at the JCPS board office.

I encourage all of us who have comments, concerns, praise and ideas to take this opportunity this summer to speak with at least one or more JCPS school board member as they review the current school issues and evaluate the performance of the JCPS superintendent and administrators.
