Another school year has come and gone and summer, although not according to the calendar, has officially started. Thursday Night Live began in Jefferson City last week, SnoBiz has reopened, and the humidity has made a comeback. Another sure sign of summer in Jefferson City includes the kickoff of Jeff City Start, an intern initiative now in its fourth year.
The Jeff City Start program began in May 2011 when, according to its website, Jefferson City's young professionals reached out to students who had already obtained internships in the city with the hope of providing a networking and learning opportunity.
Local businesses are encouraged to register their summer interns for the JC101 Summer Kickoff set for Thursday. The kickoff event will start at 8 a.m. at Providence Bank Community Room, 300 Ellis Blvd.
