FOSBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Lee Nguyen had a goal and an assist and the New England Revolution beat the Colorado Rapids 3-0 on Wednesday night to end an eight-game losing streak.

New England had only scored four goals during the losing streak that was one short of the club record.

In the 10th minute, New England (8-11-2) took its first lead in a match since May 24. Nguyen's shot inside the box deflected off Drew Moor for an own goal.

Thomas Piermayr was handed his second yellow card for Colorado (8-7-6) in the 74th minute for a rough challenge just outside the box. Nguyen's ensuing free kick cleared the wall and landed in the upper right corner of the net.

Four minutes later, Nguyen sent a through ball to Kelyn Rowe, who took three dribbles and found the back of the net.

UNITED 3, TORONTO FC 0

WASHINGTON (AP) - Bill Hamid tied a career high with eight saves for his fifth shutout of the season in D.C. United's victory over Toronto FC.

Eddie Johnson and Chris Rolfe scored to help the Washington club win its fourth straight game. Toronto also had an own-goal.

Johnson opened the scoring for United (11-5-4) in eighth minute with his fourth goal of the season - heading home a feed from Perry Kitchen.

In the 59th minute, Nick DeLeon was tackled in the box but the referee allowed play to continue and Rolfe buried the loose ball behind goalkeeper Joe Bendik. DeLeon made it 3-0 in the 67th minute, though it went down as an own goal. He barreled through two tacklers and his shot deflected off defender Nick Hagglund.

Toronto FC (7-7-5) has lost two in a row.

RED BULLS 1, REAL SALT LAKE 1, TIE

SANDY, Utah (AP) - Thierry Henry scored on a shot to the lower right corner in the 57th minute to help New York rally for a tie with Real Salt Lake.

New York (5-6-10) has played to five draws in its last eight matches. Real Salt Lake (8-4-9) remained second in the Western Conference.

Real Salt Lake opened the scoring in the 18th minute on Joao Plata's goal. Chris Wingert settled a blocked shot and sent a ball inside the box to Plata for a right-footed shot.

WHITECAPS 0, FIRE 0, TIE

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) - Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson made a second half save to preserve the Fire's tie with Vancouver.

Vancouver's Erik Hurtado had the Whitecaps' best chance of the game in the 49th minute. He broke free of the defenders and cut to the center of the box, but his right-footed effort was knocked aside by Johnson.

It was Johnson's third shutout of the season and Vancouver goalkeeper David Ousted's fifth. They each made two saves.

Chicago is 3-5-12, and Vancouver 6-4-11.
