STILLWATER, Okla. - NCAA officials SAID Oklahoma State's football program no longer faces restrictions for the upcoming school year because its Academic Progress Rate has been amended.
OSU SAID that earlier this summer, officials discovered the recent graduation of a student-athlete from the 1990s, which resulted in the addition of a delayed graduation point and pushed the Cowboys above the threshold for restrictions.
When the NCAA released its APR data in May, OSU football had an average score of 929.41 over the past four years and an average score of 943.54 over the past two years. Teams must have a four-year average of 930 to avoid practice restrictions.
The program had been facing the loss of a practice day, among other penalties.
