A Jefferson City man was arrested Saturday for assaulting a 15-year-old umpire at the Show Me State Games.
Columbia police said the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. Saturday. Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in a parking lot behind the Gold and Black Fields on the University of Missouri campus and observed an assault between two male subjects.
Curtis Howell, 36, Jefferson City, was arrested for third-degree assault and was released on a signature summons.
Authorities said Howell assaulted a 15-year-old male umpire after he officiated a coach pitch baseball game where Howell was a fan.
