Woman injured in JC accident

A Texas woman was injured in Jefferson City Sunday afternoon in a rollover wreck in the 2100 block of U.S. 50 West.

Jefferson City police said a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven eastbound by Curtis Perkins of Alice, Texas, ran off the left side of the road at about 2:54 p.m. He overcorrected as he returned to the road and crossed both eastbound lanes of U.S. 50. His vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned.

His passenger, Monica Rochester, 50, of Alice, Texas, was taken by a friend to a local hospital for treatment.

Evidence of alcohol use was found at the scene and is believed to be a contributing factor to the crash, police said.
