No injuries in Cherry Street structure fire

Six people were looking for a place to stay after a structure fire early Saturday morning in Jefferson City.

Authorities said the fire at 210 Cherry St. was called in around 2:20 a.m.

The fire was kept to the rear half of the structure where two apartments were located.

It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross was called in to give assistance to those displaced by the fire.

The cause for the fire is undetermined, but fire officials said there appeared to be nothing suspicious about the blaze.
