JC man gets prison in pursuit case

A Jefferson City man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading to charges in connection with leading authorities on a brief chase in November 2012.

Adam Redmon Sr., 42, of 9813 Lisletown Road, is charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and driving while revoked.

A Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement shows deputies were sent to Redmon's address for a report he had threatened subjects with a gun.

He left the residence, and a deputy eventually saw Redmon on U.S. 50 near the Route J overpass.

After Redmon made eye contact with the deputy, he turned around to try and catch up with Redmon, and the two headed east on 50.

The deputy, who had on the car's lights and sirens, got behind Redmon and the two passed under the Militia Drive overpass with Redmon refusing to pull over.

Redmon then started driving on the right shoulder and continued east until he came to the intersection with North Shamrock Road.

Redmon approached the intersection, and several law enforcement vehicles blocked his path, forcing him to stop. He was then taken into custody.

Redmon later admitted to drinking before operating his vehicle.

A check of Redmon's driving status shows it was revoked and that he had three previous DWI convictions.
