Area teen killed in accident

An Owensville teen was killed and another injured in a four-vehicle accident at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday on Fourth Street north of Franklin Street in Owensville in Gasconade County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1995 Ford Explorer, driven northbound by Nicholas D. Holzschuh, 18, was traveling fast, crossed the center line and struck two parked vehicles. His vehicle then crossed the center line and struck another parked vehicle. Holzschuh was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

A passenger, Dalton R. Adams, 18, Owensville, declined treatment at the scene.

Holzschuh was not wearing a seat belt. Adams was wearing a seat belt.

• A Holts Summit woman was injured in a one-car accident at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 4036 west of Honey Hill Orchard in Callaway County.

According to the patrol report, a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven eastbound by Lindsey S. Mallicoat, 24, swerved to miss a deer, ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

Mallicoat was taken to St. Mary's Health Center.

She was wearing a seat belt.
