BLUE SPRINGS - The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors defeated St. Charles 4-1 in the Blue Springs Wood Bat Tournament on Thursday.
Trevor Schieders and Corey Beard contributed two hits for the winning side, and Logan Bax drove in two.
All of the Post 5's runs came in the first inning.
Austin Sachse threw seven innings and earned the win, allowing five hits and striking out three.
Post 5 (14-7) lost its opening game of the tournament Wednesday, 3-1 to Union Bank of Lincoln, Neb.
