Broadway, High streets to close Thursday morning

Portions of Broadway Street and West High Street will be briefly closed Thursday morning to accommodate the Rally North America.

The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau will shut down Broadway Street, from West Main Street to High Street, and a portion of West High Street to Broadway Street from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday.

Detour signage will be posted in the area and motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes for their morning commute. For additional information, contact the CVB at (573) 632-2820.

The Rally North America tour will be staging 80 cars from 31 states and three provinces of Canada for the fourth day of an 1,800 mile scavenger hunt, which will conclude two days later in Pueblo, Colo. Mayor Eric Struemph will be acting as the rally's grand marshall and will give drivers their starting orders.

The event is held to raise funds for The Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis.
