I wish to publicly thank 5th Ward Councilman Larry Henry and 4th Ward Councilman Glen Costales for their support of the Citizens for Jefftran proposal for a transit advisory group.
The mayor and city administrator prefer to spend money hiring an outside consultant. Readers may recall that Jefferson City literally threw six figures into the wind in 2006 when they hired outside consultants and subsequently did not carry out the consultants' recommendations.
City Administrator Crowell now says that more consulting needs to be purchased because "a lot has changed since 2006." He is correct on that count; the rest of the country has moved forward on transit while Jefferson City has remained stagnant.
