Eugene stays undefeated with win vs. Mount Vernon

NIXA, Mo. - The Eugene Eagles just keep winning.

Eugene defeated Mount Vernon 77-69 in the opening round of the Nixa Invitational on Thursday night.

Tyler Kempker paced four Eagles in double figures with 19 points. Cody Shaw poured in 18 points, Chase Dickerson added 14 and Travis Kempker had 11.

Chandler Myers scored 28 points for Mount Vernon while Luke Call tossed in 17 and Braden Adams had 11.

Eugene led 21-15 after one quarter, 48-30 at halftime and 60-49 after three quarters.

Eugene (15-0) plays the Kansas City Central-Winnetonka winner at 8:30 p.m. today.
