California wins, Russellville loses in Russellville Tournament

RUSSELLVILLE - The California Lady Pintos are heading to the championship of the Russellville Tournament.

California rallied from a halftime deficit to take a 40-35 victory against Belle on Tuesday night.

Tied at 7 after one quarter, Belle went up 22-18 at halftime. California stormed back to a take a 31-28 advantage into the final period.

Meleigha Caudel paced California with 15 points.

Lacy Clark scored 25 for Belle (5-10).

California (12-6) will take on Father Tolton at 8 p.m. Thursday for the tournament title.

In other Russellville Tournament action, it took an extra session to determine a winner.

The Russellville Lady Indians dropped a 50-47 decision to Father Tolton in overtime.

Russellville led 19-16 after one quarter, 32-24 at halftime and 38-36 after three quarters before Tolton tied the game at 45 at the end of regulation.

A.J. Grellner paced the Lady Indians with 16 points.

Russellville (6-11) plays Versailles on Thursday in the third-place game.
