Jays JV team wins tournament

LEBANON - The Jefferson City Jays' junior varsity team finished first out of 26 teams at the Lebanon Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Jays, who had seven first-place finishers on the day, finished with 88 team points to earn the top spot, while Lebanon came in second with 70 points.

Charlie Kusinck (126) Zach Hurley (138), Casey Bax (152), Ethan Pedorski (152 B bracket), Rashaun Wood (170), Matt Lawson (195), and Ryan Mohlman (285) all earned first-place finishes.

Jacob Labella (106), Jacob Tanner (113), Danielle Protzman and (160 B bracket) finished second, while Zack Kinard (132), Brice Gaines (160), and Anthony Johnson (182) all finished third.

Austin Cobb (113) took fourth to round out the Jays' top finishers.

Jefferson City will host Hickman in a dual meet on Tuesday.
