Helias takes 10th in Platte County Invitational

PLATTE CITY - The Helias Crusaders finished 10th in the Platte County Wrestling Invitational that concluded Saturday.

Helias finished with 89 team points. Lawton MacArthur was first with 268.5, 10 points better than runner-up Platte County, Skutt Catholic was third with 255.5.

Jacob Schulte was the top Helias individual finisher, taking fourth at 145 pounds. He was 3-3 in the tournament.

Nick Gaines finished fifth with a 3-2 record at 106 for the Crusaders. He posted a 3-2 win in overtime against Patrick Felkins of Excelsior Springs in his final match.

Ty Luebbering went 2-3 and took sixth at 120 for the Crusaders, while Austin Schnieders was 2-3 and finished seventh at 145. Lane Rose was 2-3 and took seventh at 285, while Nick Feely was 1-4 in finishing seventh at 220. Alex Schwinke also was seventh for Helias at 195.

Finishing eighth were Kyle Pickett at 160, Logan Distler at 170 and Nate Jones at 182. Jacob Frank was 12th at 113, while Kaden Quinn injury defaulted at 126.

Helias is back in action Tuesday in a tri-dual against Hallsville and Fulton at Hallsville.
