Dear Editor:
I'm writing to address Tony Hawley's comments in his article "Adding on: Blair Oaks opens new weight and wrestling rooms" in the Jan. 19 paper. Hawley refers to the weight room as "an embarrassment of riches" and states it's three times bigger than what they were before.
Blair Oaks school district has increased in size by 32 percent since 2007. Their citizens voted in a 30 cent tax increase that went in effect in 2007.
Their district is growing and they have taken proactive steps to keep up with their growth. They are doing good things for their kids and people want to move into that district to be a part of a good thing. People should envy what is going on out there.
I don't call that embarrassing. I call being responsible and being proud. Keep up the good work.
