Helias to host Jays in wrestling dual

The Jefferson City Jays will look to extend their recent winning ways against the Helias Crusaders tonight when the two meet in their annual wrestling dual at Rackers Fieldhouse.

The Jays have won 10 of the last 11 duals against the Crusaders, including a 56-12 decision last season at Fleming Fieldhouse.

Jefferson City is coming off a third-place finish in last weekend's Capital City Invitational. The Jays had a pair of individual champions at the Invitational - Logan Moriarity at 145 pounds and Jalen Martin at 170 - as well as second-place finishes from Corbin Howard at 120 and Jacob Brune at 132.

Helias finished 10th in the Invitational. Jacob Schulte of the Crusaders finished 7-1 and took second at 138 pounds.

Traditionally, the Helias-Jefferson City dual had been scheduled in mid-December, but was pushed back to January this season.

The junior varsity dual will begin at 6 p.m., with the varsity to follow around 7 p.m.
