Boys Basketball: California 62, Fatima 51

CALIFORNIA, Mo. - The California Pintos are champions.

California used a strong third quarter to claim a 62-51 win against Fatima in the championship game of the California Tournament on Saturday night.

Dylan Albertson was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after pouring in a game-high 20 points to lead the Pintos (9-3). Damon Shaw added 14 points, and Jaden Barr chipped in 13 to help pace California.

The Pintos led 15-13 after the first quarter and took a 27-26 lead into halftime. California outscored Fatima 21-12 in the third quarter to take a 48-38 lead into the final period and the Pintos held off the Comets the rest of the way.

Austin Schubert and Zach Buscher both scored 12 points to lead Fatima.

California returns to action Thursday at Russellville.
