LaCure, Reds agree to deal

Sam LeCure and the Cincinnati Reds agreed to a two-year contract Friday.

LeCure (Helias High School) avoided arbitration by agreeing to a reported $3.05-million deal through the end of the 2015 season.

That will leave the 30-year-old reliever with one year of arbitration eligibility remaining.

The deal is worth $1.2 million this season and $1.85 in 2015. The 2015 deal also features some possible escalators and performance bonuses.

LeCure pitched in a career-high 63 games last season, finishing with a 2-1 record and a 2.66 ERA. In 61 innings, he struck out 66 batters and allowed just three of his 27 inherited runners to score.
