CALIFORNIA - The Fatima Comets and California Pintos are heading to the title game.
Fatima claimed a 66-59 win against Marshall, while California held off Mexico for a 57-51 victory in the semifinal round at the California Tournament on Thursday night.
The Comets (10-2) and Pintos (8-3) will square off in the championship round at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Fatima jumped out to a 13-7 lead after one quarter and outscored Marshall 18-8 in the second quarter to take a 31-16 lead into the break. The Comets took a 49-31 advantage into the final period, where they were outscored 25-17.
Jared Schulte scored 21 points and Austin Schubert added 15 to lead Fatima.
California trailed Mexico 18-14 after the first quarter and 27-26 going into halftime, but the Pintos outscored Mexico 15-10 in the third quarter to take a 42-36 lead into the final period.
Dylan Albertson scored a game-high 29 points, while Drew Norton added 13 to lead California.
Cole Jaramillo led Mexico with 26 points.
