JC woman arrested after weekend stabbing

A Jefferson City woman was arrested after a weekend stabbing incident.

Sarah Cobb, 31, was arrested for first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and second-degree property damage.

On Saturday, at about 12:30 p.m., Jefferson City Police were called to the 300 block of East Dunklin Street for a call about a possible stabbing.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Cobb was threatening the resident and attempting to gain access into the residence to help a friend who lived with the victim to remove belongings.

When Cobb was not allowed in, she started striking the door with a shovel, causing damage to the door.

Cobb then started to break the door in with her shoulder, and the victim, fearing for her children present, told Cobb to stay out or she would be stabbed.

Cobb continued to try and force the door and the victim then stabbed Cobb once in the arm as she started to gain entry. Another witness present corroborated the victim's statement.
