Cooperative donates $1,600 to foster care group

Central Electric Power Cooperative recently made a donation of $1,600 to the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association.

Don Shaw, chief executive officer and general manager of the cooperative, said this is the third or fourth year the company has made such a donation and the money was raised through a raffle at an employee Christmas party.

"I think they (CMFCAA) do great work," Shaw said. "It's certainly great for the community and a great service for children in need."

CMFCAA is a nonprofit agency that "educates, supports and advocates for foster and adoptive children, youth and families in central Missouri."

"This donation will help our commitment and success with the children we serve," said DeAnna Alonso, executive director of CMFCAA.
