Melissa Williams, Centertown, browses the newly placed items for sale at The Copper Tree Exchange, now located at 112 E. High St. Williams came Friday to check out the shop's new location on its first day of business in its new Jefferson City location.

The Copper Tree Exchange has found its new home, and is settling in quite nicely.

The resale shop moved from its previous location on Dix Road to 112 E. High St., the former Art Bazaar location. The shop opened for business on Friday, and owner Greg Bemboom said he will have a grand reopening event in the near future.

The resale shop utilized the new space to showcase home decor, high-end jewelry and even re-purposed furniture. Shelves along the walls make more room for breakables and a clear view of each item.

"We love the space," the owner said.

Even on a rainy first day, Bemboom was pleased with the outcome.

"We're glad to be downtown, I love downtown," Bemboom said. "It is nice to have the walk-in traffic."

The Copper Tree Exchange has already welcomed new and old customers alike. Centertown resident Melissa Williams was browsing the goods Friday afternoon. She said the store owners did a great job utilizing the space in the old building, but said the new space is wonderful. "It will be very good for them," she noted.

The shop will be open Monday through Saturday, 9-5 p.m., and until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.
