HONOLULU (AP) - Brian Stuard had his fourth straight round of 65 at the Sony Open. Too bad it was only Friday.
Stuard finished his second round with a hybrid into 2 feet for eagle. That gave him a one-shot lead over Marc Leishman of Australia and Hideto Tanihara of Japan going into the weekend at Waialae Country Club.
Leishman had a 64, and Tanihara shot 65 late in the round.
The fans soaking up the sun took home some memories.
James Hahn made an albatross - the rarest shot in golf - when he holed out from 191 yards on the par-5 ninth hole. He was 5 under after a 68.
And the big attraction was having surf champion Kelly Slater in the gallery. He was there to watch a caddie - fellow surfer Benji Weatherley - who is on the bag for Masters champion Adam Scott.
Scott was three shots behind at 7 under after a 66.
VOLVO GOLF CHAMPIONS
DURBAN, South Africa (AP) - Joost Luiten holed a 7-iron from 248 yards for an albatross on the par-5 10th hole and finished with a 5-under 67 for a share of the second-round lead in the Volvo Golf Champions.
The Dutchman's shot landed near the front fringe, took a couple of bounces across the green and rolled in.
Defending champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa had a 69, and England's Tommy Fleetwood shot a 67 to match Luiten at 7-under 137 at Durban Country Club. American Peter Uihlein followed his opening 70 with a 78.
