Your Opinion: School closing decisions border on irrational

Dear Editor:

The rate at which we close schools has hit a level of being insane. Sorry, but our latest storm (Thursday) was barely a scant, yet once again school officials have created a mountain out of a molehill. In Wyoming, Arkansas or Massachusetts you won't see them close schools even after 10 inches or more hits within a 12-hour period. Guess they're just tougher people/kids.

We live out in the county yet when I awoke our road was clean and I could easily get around in my wheelchair. If I can get around, why can't kids who're supposed to love this stuff?

Call it proof we're such a delicate county, or is the truth we're just looking for another reason to get out of work and schoolwork?
