KANSAS CITY (AP) - A look at some of the highlights and lowlights of the Kansas City Chiefs' season:
Best Game: After winning just two games a year ago, the Chiefs rolled into Philadelphia in Week 3 having already matched that total. It was the return of coach Andy Reid to the city where he spent the past 14 years, and Kansas City made it a memorable trip with a 26-16 victory.
Worst Game: Is there any other choice? The Chiefs raced to a 31-10 halftime lead Saturday and were poised to win their first playoff game since 1993, only to collapse in spectacular fashion. Andrew Luck led the Colts on a furious second-half rally, and he finished it off with a 64-yard pass to T.Y. Hilton in the closing minutes to seal a 45-44 defeat.
Best Play: Any of those involving Jamaal Charles in a 56-31 victory against Oakland. The All-Pro running back scored five touchdowns, four through the air, and had 215 yards total offense.
Worst Play: Any play involving the defense in the second half in Indianapolis. The Colts scored five touchdowns against a Chiefs defense that gave up 536 yards in the game.
Biggest Surprise: The entire season may qualify as the biggest surprise. The Chiefs had the No. 1 pick in the draft a year ago yet won their first nine games, punching their playoff ticket with time to spare.
Biggest Disappointment: There was a feeling among the Chiefs this would be the year they finally won a postseason game. Instead, their playoff losing streak now stands at eight games.
What's Next: The overhaul won't be as dramatic as last season, when the coach and GM were fired and the roster turned over. But there are plenty of holes to fill, starting at wide receiver and the defensive backfield. The Chiefs are also likely to lose left tackle Branden Albert, whom they put the franchise tag on last season but appear willing to let go in free agency.
