Bitterly cold temperatures on tap today

The effect of a fast-moving winter storm leaves its residual effects on Mid-Missouri today with blowing and drifting snow, frigid temperatures and hazardous wind-chill values.

Strong north to northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, will produce blowing snow with potential areas of drifting and reduced visibility.

Although today's weather will produce another bone-chilling day in the area, Friday and Saturday may bring a very brief moderation to the recent cold snap before it turns bitterly cold again on Sunday.
