Man gets probation for meth possession

A Jefferson City man was placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine in December 2012.

David Foley, 51, of 312 Norris Drive, must also serve a 20-day shock-detention sentence as part of his probation.

Jefferson City police were called to his residence for a report that he had stabbed his brother in the abdomen after an argument.

Authorities said Foley was a self-admitted user of methamphetamine and had used the drug prior to this incident.
