ELDON, Mo. - The St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets and Tuscumbia Lady Lions will square off Friday night for the Class 1 District 6 Tournament title after semifinal victories Wednesday night.
The top-seeded Lady Hornets were 66-33 winners against Weaubleau in the opener Wednesday.
Savannah Stiles finished with a game-high 32 points for St. Elizabeth, which led 16-6 after one quarter and 35-12 at the half.
Allie Heckemeyer had her eighth double-double of the season for the Lady Hornets, totaling 16 points and 15 rebounds to go along with eight assists.
In the second semifinal, Tuscumbia outscored third-seeded Macks Creek 24-6 in the final quarter to pull away to a 79-51 victory.
Kendra Vaughan led four Lady Lions in double figures with 23 points. Tempary Gunter added 17 for Tuscumbia, which led 42-34 at the half, while TaKayla Gunter totaled 14. Summer Rush chipped in with 10.
Julie Hix finished with 14 points for Macks Creek (18-6).
St. Elizabeth (19-7, ranked No. 8 in the state) and Tuscumbia (23-4, ranked No. 10) have met twice this season, both coming in the span of one week. The Lady Hornets have won both - 72-59 on Jan. 27 at Tuscumbia and 51-50 in the title game of the Eldon Tournament on Feb. 1.
