GLASGOW, Mo. - The postseason experience factor may have played a big role Wednesday night for the Chamois Lady Pirates.
Chamois, which finished second in the state last season, outscored top-seeded and state-ranked Glasgow 11-6 in the final quarter to take a 42-38 win in the semifinals of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament.
The Lady Pirates led 15-12 after one quarter and 26-18 at the half. But Glasgow, No. 7 in Class 1, rallied to take a 32-31 advantage into the final period.
Alison Mehmert finished with 15 points to lead the winners, while Paige Nolte added 14.
Chamois (15-11) will take on the winner of tonight's semifinal between Community R-VI and Prairie Home for the district title at 4 p.m. Saturday.
