GLASGOW — A big first half led the Chamois Lady Pirates to an opening-round win in the Class 1 District 9 Tournament.
The fourth-seeded Lady Pirates jumped ahead of fifth-seeded Jamestown 11-2 after one quarter and built the lead to 23-5 at halftime. Jamestown had a 13-12 scoring edge in the third, while Chamois outscored Jamestown by the same score in the fourth.
Paige Nolte pumped in 25 points for the winners, while Alison Mehmert added 16.
Chamois (14-11) will play top-seeded Glasgow, a 57-11 winner against Missouri School for the Deaf on Monday, at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the semifinals.
